How do I become a Pet Sitter?

First, you need to create a Pet Sitter account by clicking here. Fill in all the necessary information regarding your living situation and any animals in your home, as well as the types of service you wish to offer. Write a short paragraph (about 5-10 lines) telling us about yourself and explain why you want to work with Holidog - the more the better! Please include your experience with animals and add a few photos to make your profile more appealing and gain your future customers' confidence. Once your profile is complete, it will be verified by our team who will let you know if any changes need to be made and, if so, how to make them. Once your profile is validated, your account will be activated, and you will be able to receive notifications from our customers.

Is there a specific timetable I have to stick to?

We do not employ any Pet Sitters directly. They have no obligation to us and are free to choose the hours that suit them. They are also free to accept or decline a Customer's offer. You can access your availability calendar in your profile and modify it at any time (e.g. for holidays, doctor's appointments, etc.), as well as deactivate notifications during your days off. This allows you to avoid a drop in your response rate.

Can I search and contact Holidog Customers directly?

No. Customers initiate contact on Holidog by sending you a notification. When you receive a notification, you are free to accept or decline it. If you accept it, you can then chat with the Customer via the Holidog messaging system to discuss your service in more detail. If you decline a notification, you will not be able to interact with the Customer regarding this search. However, the Customer may try to contact you again when they start a new search.

How can I get more notifications?

You can increase your visibility and appeal by adding photos to your profile and writing a few lines explaining your motivation for doing this job. This helps the Customer to better understand who you are and what experience you have. You can also register as a Premium Pet Sitter to improve your visibility and reach (your profile will be displayed at the top of the search results).

How long does it take to get your first notification?

Several criteria come into play here: the attractiveness of your profile, the number of pet owners looking for a Pet Sitter, the number of Pet Sitters available, etc. Once you've published your profile, you could receive your first notification within minutes! Or, it could take longer. Be patient and don't forget to upload some nice photos and write a few detailed lines about yourself to make your profile more interesting. This way, you're sure to receive notifications faster!

How do Pet Sitters get paid? How much can I earn?

Pet Sitters are paid directly by the Customer, usually after the service has been completed. In general, it’s up to you and the Customer to discuss the handling of your payment. At Holidog, we believe it's fair to let our Pet Sitters decide their own rates for the services they provide. When you create your Pet Sitter account, your daily rate is set as default. You can then adjust it by accessing "Settings". Don't forget to check your daily rate and change it if you wish.

Is my personal data safe with Holidog?

Holidog has a strict Privacy Policy regarding our users' personal data: customers will only see your first name and any information you provide on your profile page. It will not be possible for them to find you with this information alone. Customers receive more information about their chosen Pet Sitter when making a booking, and only then. This information includes your surname, email address, phone number, and location. This makes it possible for the Customer and the Pet Sitter to arrange a meeting before deciding to go ahead with the pet sitting service.
